Ohanaeze fumes as ex-Buhari aide expresses anti-Igbo sentiment
THE top Igbo, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, denied the declaration on the Assembly of Matters, credited to the President’s former Special Assistant Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), Abdurrahman Sumaila as an early childhood remark. In its address in Kano Thursday, the former presidential assistant stated that “Nigerians with a sound mind will not back Igbo in 2023.”
Hunger and infections are rife in the north-west, and Zamfara is in a state of emergency, according to MSF.
Ohanaeze Speaker Chief Alex Ogbonnia said, “The former presidential assistant, which describes his reaction as ‘childish,’ would not be upset by Ohanaeze. In its statement Sumaila added, “How can Nigerians entrust themselves to governing the crimes done by individuals in the South-East record? “I’m sure that not a single right thinker will put his life in jeopardy to promote any candidate for presidential presidential candidate in South East 2023.”
He predicted that behind the attack on the South East public infrastructure, the nation would become anarchic. “The South-Eastern elite should draw a leaf from its northern counterparts, for example Arewa Forum and the Northern Elders Forum, whose activities in North Boko Haram’s fighters and criminals have consistently been condemned. “You must clear up your names, or else, in some southern states Nigerians will regard you as responsible for all murders and destruction.”
