Sanwo-Olu compensates residents with N500 million.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has compensated residents of Ikorodu’s Igbogbo and Ahmed Bola Tinubu communities who were impacted by the demolition that occurred while road work was underway.
Buhari will be under tight protection when he visits Lagos on Thursday.
This was stated by the governor on Wednesday during the inauguration of the renovated Ijede Road in Ikorodu.
“I am pleased to inform you that we will be paying over 500 million today as compensation to various religious organisations, schools, and individuals on the Igbogbo-Ahmed Bola Tinubu area that is currently under construction,” he added.

“We made a commitment to the people of Igbogbo that the next time we return to Ikorodu, we will come with a bag of cheques to be delivered to property owners and individuals affected by the demolition,” Sanwo-Olu stated. This is what we are doing today. “When we handed over the road to Arab contractors, we pledged to finish it and return it to our inhabitants in 18 months. Ladies and gentlemen, we finished in 17 months. I would want to thank our contractors, stakeholders, and others for their efforts in keeping the schedule on track.”
