The Synagogue appoints TB Joshua’s wife, as GO, is preparing for the funeral.
.Mrs Evelyn Joshua, the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Temitope Joshua, is expected to succeed him as General Overseer of the church. Evelyn and Joshua were married for 31 years and had three children together until his death on June 5 at the age of 57. According to AfricaNews, leaders of the church met and named Evelyn as the late televangelist’s successor. “Someone must take responsibility immediately and give spiritual direction on the style of service continuity,” a top assistant to the late clergyman was quoted as saying. SCOAN was built with a lot of spiritual and financial work, and it can’t just sit there and rot (sic).”
Evelyn, who met TB Joshua over 30 years ago, was claimed to have been working as her husband’s second-in-command before his death earlier this month, acting as a preacher and delivering counseling to church members. The church had previously stated that Joshua will be buried at the church, despite the wishes of the traditional rulers of Arigidi Akoko, the late televangelist’s homeland in Ondo. The event will last a week, from July 5 to July 11.
Joshua’s lying-in-state service will take place on July 8, followed by his funeral and interment on July 9. On July 11, there will be a Thanksgiving service. All services will be live-streamed on Emmanuel TV. SCOAN also informed its followers that worship will continue at the church, which had been closed since Joshua’s death.
