Why are some Nigerians furious by Buhari’s plan to use shock troops? – Keyamo
Festus Keyamo, SAN, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, has accused those pursuing President Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) of promoting destruction by making a harsh declaration against secessionists. Those who oppose Buhari’s comments, according to the minister, “want to damage government.” After the president threatened perpetrators of destruction in the country on Wednesday, he mentioned this in a series of tweets. Buhari had issued a strong warning to those attempting to destabilize Nigeria on Tuesday, saying they would soon face the shock of their lives.
Buhari said the Federal Government has given the perpetrators ample time after receiving a briefing from Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, on a series of attacks on electoral body facilities around the country. According to a statement released by the President’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, “I receive daily security updates on the attacks, and it is very evident that those behind them want this administration to fail.” “Nigeria’s insecurity is now being discussed all over the world. You have to question what all the people who desire power, whatever they are, actually want. Whoever wants to bring down the system will have to act quickly. In response, Keyamo called the justifications advanced by those criticizing Buhari’s strong comments “absurd.” “The President has committed to deal with the scoundrels damaging public infrastructure and killing people in order to incite insurgency, and some moron interprets this to suggest he is threatening innocent citizens!” he remarked. This logic is so ridiculous that I’m not sure whether to laugh or cry.
“You may have read that the President should just allow some crooks to destroy another region because the insurgency is still present in other parts of the country. It’s like a race to bring instability in one location up to par with instability in other locations! “We are committed to being the most user-centric Mobile Internet company in the world, bringing innovation to everyone. “Some people’s outrage at the President’s determination to deal decisively with these scoundrels is an indicator that they favor the destruction of public infrastructure in order to hobble the government. It’s a classic case of putting one’s nose in front of one’s face!
“I hope that some of the elites who couldn’t find their voices to rein in their wards when their region burned won’t suddenly find their voices against Mr. President! Those who cried that it is Mr. President’s responsibility to keep the peace should not try to tell him how to do his job right now.”
