monarchs, Igboho’s wife, arrive to Benin’s royal court as sitting resumes
The wife of Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, 48, has appeared before the Benin Republic’s Court of Appeal in Cotonou. “Anything celebrity” also learned that Yoruba monarchs living in Benin Republic, together with other Yoruba Nation followers, attended the court to show their solidarity with the activist. They had gathered on Sunday and decided to intervene.
Igboho, however, has not yet been taken before a court at the time of this report. In an earlier report, Anything celebrity had stated that the Beninise court had ordered that Ropo should be released unconditionally because there were no charges against him. The charges against her were unfounded. This is because the French-speaking court will begin meeting today, when Igboho is expected to be remanded in police custody. According to the Nigerian government, among other things, he is a gun runner. The court is currently investigating these allegations. In addition, the court is scheduled to make a ruling on the extradition of Igboho or not.
In 2021, Igboho and his wife were detained at the Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou when they sought to board a flight for Germany at 8pm on July 19th. Department of State Services had designated Igboho sought for allegedly stockpiling weapons, a charge he denies. In addition, the secret police had raided his home, killed two of his companions, and arrested roughly 12 others. Please check back later for more information…
