While transferring data from stolen SIM cards, two individuals were arrested.

Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos received two individuals, Oriade Adeoye and Toheeb Malik, on Tuesday for allegedly possessing a stolen SIM card Both Adeoye and Malik, both 24 years old, have pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and receiving stolen property charges. Plaintiff Rita Momah, an Assistant State Prosecutor, said in court that the offenses were committed on May 21 in the Ajangbadi neighborhood of Lagos. According to Momah, the defendants were caught with Victor Oviewo’s stolen SIM card.

When Adeoye used the SIM card to transfer data to Malik’s phone, the police tracked him out and arrested him, she added. Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015, Section 328, according to Momah. Frau Adeola Adedayo, Chief Magistrate of Lagos State, granted bail to the defendants in the sum of N50,000 apiece, with two sureties in the same amount as well. Later, Adedayo continued the matter until Aug. 17 for further consideration.
