Activists affiliated with the TakeItBack campaign have planned a new protest on September 24, 2021, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

This comes after Yoruba Nation and Biafra agitators stated on the same day that they would stage the “mother of all protests” at the UN headquarters.

According to the PUNCH, President Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) will address the United Nations Assembly on the day of the protests.

[BREAKING] UN Assembly: Sowore’s group calls for a new round of protests, laying out four demands.

On Monday, the movement’s Global Director of Mobilisation, Gbola Owoborode, issued a statement headlined, “Protest Call At The UN General Assembly,” announcing the protest.

The group announced four requests for the protest, including the dismissal of charges against one of its leaders, Omoyele Sowore.

“The TakeItBack movement seizes this medium to encourage Nigerians in and around the city of New York to a protest at the United Nations General Assembly on September 23rd and 24th, 2021 at 9 a.m.,” the statement said.

“The tyrant ruler, Major General Buhari, arrived in New York for the General Assembly on September 18th.
We are appealing on all parties and individuals who are rightfully angry about the regime’s authoritarianism, mismanagement, corruption, and ineptitude to join us in protesting the following demands:

“The regime should unreservedly release Sowore and remove all allegations against him, which he has been wrongly accused of.

“We demand the immediate release of all political detainees, including Nnamdi Kanu, Igboho, and the over 300 endSARS activists who are still being held illegally.

“Abolition of terrorism, kidnappings, and banditry, which have wreaked havoc across the country.

“The Buhari regime must resign because it is inept, lawless, tyrannical, nepotistic, and corrupt. It has failed to provide the security and wellbeing of Nigerians, which is the government’s primary job. The Buhari administration must resign!”
