Britney Spears, an American music singer, has promised to sue her father for ‘abuse’ after being released from a 13-year conservatorship.
According to the Judicial Council of California’s Handbook for Conservators, a conservatorship is a court proceeding in which a probate judge appoints a person to accept legal responsibility for someone, usually a close family, who lacks the competence to handle their personal and financial affairs.
After a judge determined on Friday that she no longer had to live under what her lawyers characterized as “draconian” conditions, the singer thanked fans who spearheaded the “Free Britney” movement.
“Good God, I love my fans so much it’s crazy,” Miss Spears wrote on social media as hundreds of admirers gathered outside a LA courtroom to celebrate the news. I’m quite sure I’m going to cry for the rest of the day. “It was the best day of my life.”
