Hundreds of people were injured on November 5 in Houston during a performance by hip-hop singer Travis Scott at the Astroworld Festival when concertgoers were crushed against barriers, unable to move or breathe as the crowd pressed toward the stage.

Attendees said it was difficult to pick them up and evacuate them because some fell and others tumbled on top of them, crushing the bodies beneath. The density of the crowd closer to the stage made it difficult to pick them up and evacuate them.

Ezra Blount, nine years old, suffered serious injuries and was placed in a medically induced coma as physicians fought for his life.

Ben Crump, a well-known US attorney who is representing the victims of the tragedy, has delivered a statement.

“The Blount family is mourning the unfathomable death of their wonderful young kid tonight,” Crump added.

“Taking their son to a performance, which should have been a joyous occasion, should not have resulted in this.” The death of Ezra is tragic.”
